It’s possible to cut the Guardog skate guards to your preferred size. When is it necessary to cut them? When the hole in the middle is bigger than 19mm. Cutting is unnecessary when the hole is 19mm or smaller. The Guardog skate guards are perfect when the hole is 9mm or less. 

Because the Guardog skate guards can be cut to size, makes it so the Guardog Top Notch 2-piece guards can also be used for ice hockey skates and figure skates.
