CCM stands for Canada Cycle & Motor Company Limited and first opened their doors in Canada in 1899. At first most of their sales were bikes, but in 1905 bike sales declined in Canada. Ice hockey underwent a huge growth in Canada, and CCM decided to put their focus on this market. Since then CCM has become a big player on the ice hockey market, wherein CCM at a certain point dominated 90% of the ice hockey skate.
